Camellia Johnson, MSW, LCSW
A Family Therapist at Newport Academy since 2016, Camellia Johnson, MSW, LCSW, works to rebuild families through increasing communication and improving relationships. Her previous professional experience includes providing intensive in-home child and adolescent services as a senior clinician with Wellmore Behavioral Health in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Camellia has also educated teens on HIV/AIDS prevention, and recruited and trained high-risk youth to become community advocates. As a Teen Outreach Program Facilitator for Family Centered Services of CT, she offered middle school students opportunities to participate in service projects and group discussions on teen pregnancy prevention, healthy relationships, and many other topics. In addition, she worked as a certified nursing assistant, providing end-of-life care for terminally ill clients.
