Our Editorial & Review Process

Newport Academy’s content is researched, created, reviewed and verified accurate by qualified writers, editors, clinicians, and other Newport Academy staff members.

Our Promise

The content we publish is intended to inform and educate our audience about the mental health challenges facing children, teens, and families, and to offer hope for recovery, as well as expert insight into the many treatment options available.

Our Voice

We know that watching a loved one struggle with their mental health is difficult and scary. Therefore, we approach content through the lens of our clients and their families, making it relevant and easy to understand. We aim to destigmatize mental health treatment, so more young people get the help they need

In addition, we create content specific to mental health, medical, and school professionals, covering the latest updates in the field and offering tools to support them in their work with young people and families.

Our Editorial Team

Our editorial team includes Newport staff and contract writers who have years of experience writing on behavioral health. Our team performs extensive research, referencing the most up-to-date, peer-reviewed studies available on mental health. We also conduct interviews with internal medical and clinical experts.

Content is reviewed by the Content Director and a member of our medical and clinical team to ensure accuracy and readability.

Our Clinical Experts

Newport’s clinical experts bring decades of experience and wisdom in the field of behavioral health. The editorial team consistently seeks guidance on their interpretation of new research and trends around child and adolescent mental health. Our experts review content in their area of expertise to ensure it is accurate and reflects the latest in evidence-based research.
