This week’s story comes from a previous client who went into our OCD treatment program in Los Angeles, CA. He was full of fears and doubts, but left as the best version of himself. Full story below 👇🏼

“When I walked into Newport, I did not expect to overcome so many fears. My OCD was horrible and my self-esteem was at its lowest. I would obsess every single day without stopping. Thanks to Newport, I was able to increase my self-esteem, decrease my OCD, and understand my family. After only two months, it feels like my whole life has evolved into something new. For anyone scared to start, it will be worth your time. You’ll meet the best people and you’ll become your best self.”

OCD is real and very debilitating, but there’s hope for healing ✨

Social media is constantly telling us what we should look like and promoting toxic and unattainable "standards of beauty." In a 2021 study by City University of London, 94% of participants said they felt under pressure to look a certain way.

However, with Valentine`s Day around the corner, it`s a great time to remind ourselves that everyone is deserving and worthy of love regardless of their size and shape. 💕

Love doesn’t need to come from another person for us to feel accepted—just the opposite. When we feel love for ourselves, we can flourish and build resilience despite the harsh expectations around us.

The journey of self-acceptance can be a long and meandering road for anyone, but especially for someone having mental health challenges. Because of the ongoing negative impact on the body, eating disorders are the deadliest of all mental illnesses. However, long-term healing is possible, and support from parents and loved ones on this journey is essential!

Today, let this be a loving reminder that you are worthy—not because of how you look, but because of who you are and what you contribute to the world. ✨

If recognizing signs of bullying was already hard, parents can have an even harder time with cyberbullying.

With the vast majority of teens spending hours upon hours of time in the online world, teen cyberbullying has become rampant. Social media and other online forums provide ways for teens to bully peers without real-life repercussions.

It’s imperative that parents learn to recognize signs and know what to do, as victims of cyberbullying are four times as likely to engage in suicidal thoughts or attempts.

Tag your friends or share this post to help educate parents on things they can do about bullying, whether their child is the victim or the bully....

We know how hard it can be when your child is going through a tough time.

We share these testimonials as an attempt to restore hope. Hope for a better future, hope for healing and relief.✨

Enjoy the story of hope below from a past client who attended our teen treatment program near Irvine, CA. ♥️

“Sending our 13-year-old daughter to Newport was the hardest but best decision we have ever made. After many attempts in therapy to help her with extreme depression/anxiety, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, and a suicide attempt, we knew she needed something more intensive. At Newport, she was given the opportunity to focus on herself without all the outside distractions and with the help of knowledgeable therapists and extremely caring staff who she adored. My favorite part was the Attachment-Based Family Therapy. My daughter and I are so much closer now. When there are struggles now, we know how to work through them together in a healthy way. I am forever grateful for Newport and the way they were able to help my daughter start to turn things around. We have had a wonderful experience from the intake coordinator all the way through to the alumni follow-ups.”
