We provide a gender-specific environment in which young men can relate to peers without distraction.
At the Newport Academy Residential Male treatment program, our staff has decades of professional and personal experience working with adolescent males coping with teen mental health and teenage substance abuse disorders. Gender-specific residential treatment programs allow boys to focus on aspects of their recovery that might be difficult to discuss in dual-gender settings. This nurturing experience creates a space for compassion, trust, and camaraderie among residents. Friendship and bonding is essential in developing personal accountability and self-awareness.
A Day in the Life
Life in treatment can be challenging, but also incredibly fulfilling and joyful. We focus on teaching our teens that life is full of wonder and hope. On any given day of treatment at Newport Academy, teen boys will have the opportunity to experience one-on-one therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, music therapy, Equine Therapy, adventure therapy, martial arts, therapeutic process groups, yoga, meditation, and many other dynamic activities, all while maintaining their academic progress.
The following schedule is a snapshot of the integrated approach to education, therapy, inspiration, and reflection that a teen male enrolled in the Newport Academy Residential Program experiences each week.
