Tiana Griffin, MSW
Tiana Griffin is extremely passion about her work, and she prides herself on helping others. She chose to pursue a career in social work because of her desire to help young adults achieve the best developmental skills and loves being a Counselor at Newport Academy. Her biggest influences are her parents and family for their never-ending support and encouragement. Tiana has participated in many trainings and workshops, including sessions for “Living in the Shadows of an Eating Disorder,” Risking Connections, Vicarious Trauma, CPI, CPR, and First Aid-AED. She has certifications in DBT, CBT, CBT-E Therapy, and Meal Coaching, all of which she uses to treat eating disorders, crisis management, depression, anxiety, and other behavioral struggles.
Tiana studied Psychology for her bachelor’s degree at Western Connecticut State University before attending Fordham University for her master’s in Social Work. Prior to joining Newport Academy, Tatiana worked at King Robinson Inter-District Management School, Hannah Gray Home, Charles F. Hayden Therapeutic School, and Walden Behavioral Care.
