Patricia Everrett, MA, LMFT

Patricia Everrett is passionate about helping families heal and become the most positive foundation and support possible for one another. Throughout her 40 years as a family therapist, Patricia has always been inspired by her own families whose love and loyalty sustains and encourages her on a daily basis. She has always been the person her friends have confided in because she is so supportive and a good listener.

Patricia is trained in Systems Therapy, PET for trauma, among other modalities, and uses CBT for couples if one or both have experienced trauma/PTSD, CBT and EMDR for individuals who are struggling with trauma/PTSD, ABFT for families of teens in treatment, and positive parenting to help parents with communication and discipline skills. In her opinion, she excels at treating attachment ruptures in teens and assisting them in repairing the injuries between young adults and their parents. She also specializes in resolving resentment within family systems.

Prior to joining Newport Academy, Patricia worked as a licensed psychotherapist and case manager for the US Army and Navy. During this 15-year role, she treated service members and their families for communication issues, stress, PTSD, depression, domestic violence, and child abuse. Patricia also worked with colleagues to develop a 12-week support group for victims of sexual abuse.

Newport Academy…in her own words

“I was drawn to Newport Academy because the family program is the cornerstone of treatment, addressing the underlying issues of attachment for the clients and families. I also loved the focus on nature and outdoor activities to help create a balanced lifestyle. Their triad of treatment of the individual, family and substance abuse is unique and the best I’ve seen in 40 years of experience in this field.”–Patricia Everrett
