Kayla Gugliotti, LMSW
Kayla Gugliotti is a counselor at Newport Academy and has been working in the healthcare field for several years, specializing in adolescent mental health issues. She chose this profession to give others the opportunity to feel empowered and find piece not only with themselves, but also with the external world and its dilemmas. When studying for her degree, her biggest support system was her family. She is most grateful for their stellar example in providing her with constant support and modeling such a commendable and hard work ethic.
Kayla is trained in the modalities of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing. In her opinion, she excels at treating community and adolescent mental health issues. She has the most expertise working with patients who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression, and uses a wide range of modalities in her practice at Newport. Kayla has participated in specialized trainings as a Child Protection Investigator (CPI) as part of her social work degree, as well as CPR. Previous to her work at Newport, Kayla worked at Newington Human Services where she provided crisis management to lower income populations, which she found deeply inspiring.
