Jamie Perry, LMSW
During her childhood years, Jamie Perry needed a support system outside of her family to help her through personal and mental health issues. She began visiting a counselor who was extremely empathetic and changer her life for the better. She’s wanted to give back to others ever since! Jamie’s biggest influence is her mom, who passed away in 2016, and she works hard every day to make her proud.
Jamie enjoys working with teenagers because you generally see the largest shift within themselves and their families throughout the treatment process. She has been trained in trauma-focused cogitative behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing basics (MI) – all of which she uses during treatment depending on the individual needs of the client. In Jamie’s experience, she excels in eating disorder treatments, as well as helping clients address mental health, substance abuse, and trauma issues. Prior to Newport Academy, Jamie worked at a private practice for adolescents with developmental disabilities as well as the Renfrew Center.
Newport Academy…in her own words
