Chelsea Reeves, CADC

Chelsea Reeves’ role at Newport Academy includes facilitating a broad range of recovery and mental health counseling groups. Additionally, this includes providing crisis intervention, and offering guidance and mentorship for employees. Also, she developed and currently coordinates the Newport Academy Alumni Program.

Formerly the Sober Living and Alumni Director for Safe Harbor Treatment Center for Women in Costa Mesa, California, Chelsea brings her personal recovery experience to her work. She understands first-hand the power of creating positive experiences, shifting unhealthy beliefs, in addition to engaging in experiential challenges.

Newport Academy…in her own words

“I value the holistic and well-rounded approach we take to the recovery process. As someone in long-term recovery myself, I know that treatment is about so much more than dealing with the symptoms—it’s about addressing the underlying issues, such as trauma and depression. At Newport Academy, we provide a limitless variety of coping skills and activities—including adventure therapy, yoga, meditation, music therapy, and so much more. Each treatment plan is organic to the resident’s own experience. We also acknowledge that long-term recovery depends on healing the family system; our Family Program is one of the key components that set us apart from other treatment centers. At Newport Academy, we look at ‘the big picture’ of recovery.”—Chelsea Reeves
