Casey Simoncelli , LMSW
Casey Simoncelli has always had a passion for social justice, advocacy, and the value of human connectivity. As a result, she chose to pursue a career in social work with the goal of understanding how and why mental health issues develop. She is motivated to change the stigma around mental health and make special connections with her clients so she can better serve their therapeutic needs. For that reason, her biggest influences are her clients. She is so impressed by their resilience through the most difficult situations which inspires her to continue learning as a clinician.
As a Milieu Therapist, Casey’s commitment to social justice advocacy remains strong. She has participated in multiple workshops and conferences for the DIR Floortime modality for children and teens on the autism spectrum. Beyond the technical skills, this training has given her a greater understanding of the benefits to approaching interactions with clients on an individualized, relationship-based level. She is also trained in TF-CBT which is an evidenced-based treatment for adolescents who have experiences trauma and show signs of emotional and behavioral symptoms. Casey is also trained in DBT, which reinforces skills around coping, emotion management, relationship dynamics, and mindfulness. Casey makes it her top priority to understand her clients, build a genuine connection, and create a therapeutic relationship that fosters a safe space for treatment.
