Alyssa Duda, LCSW-C
Alyssa Duda joined Newport Academy in 2019, bringing more than 8 years of experience as a primary therapist. She especially loves working with teens, and aims to reconnect families so they can have more fulfilling relationships with one another. Alyssa has been extensively trained by Lisa Ferentz regarding trauma-related issues. She has also been trained by Eliana Gil from the Starbright Institute in both the play and sand tray therapy techniques. As a result, she excels in treating childhood abuse, neglect, and identifying the causes of trauma.
Previously, she coordinated the Buckingham Youth Brigade with BU-Gata for four years. Her primary role involved working with survivors of torture who had fled their home county and were seeking asylum in the US under the Torture Abolition Survivor Support Coalition. Alyssa also worked with survivors of intimate partner and/or sexual violence with HopeWorks of Howard County.
Newport Academy…in her own words
“I love that Newport allows for flexibility in treatment in order to specifically meet an individual’s needs, including arts-based and body-based modalities such as psychodrama, art and music.”—Alyssa Duda
