Clinical Outreach Representative

As a Level II Certified Alcohol and Drugs Counselor, Shannon brings to Newport Academy her clinical experience coupled with a history of over 15 years working with children and adolescents for various non-profit organizations including Big Brothers/Big sisters of Orange County. Shannon’s passion lies in assisting others in achieving their personal goals and her joy is helping kids.

Since entering the field of addiction treatment, Shannon has served as a Case Manager, Counselor, Academic Program Director, and Recovery Coach. Her personal experience with alcoholism and addiction in her own family fuels her passion to see other families realize the hope and healing that’s available. She knows firsthand that education, counseling, and bringing understanding to the families we serve is a critical component to recovery. As Robert Frost said, “the only way out, is through”.

She is highly motivated to continue to build relationships within our community and abroad that will connect individuals and families, in need of addiction treatment, to the professionals and resources readily available to them.
