Laura Kennerson is a credentialed teacher in the State of California. She received her undergraduate degree in education from Illinois State University, in 1998 and her Masters in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2004. She has a strong commitment to adolescents and their families. Laura taught in the Torrance Unified School District for over 10 years where she was consistently recognized as an exceptional instructor. Her students regarded Mrs. Kennerson as a teacher who “made learning fun,” made “the information easy to understand,” and made students “feel good about themselves.” Laura combines her educational and counseling training to create a therapeutic classroom in which each student’s feel an empowerment of positive self image and ability to achieve. Laura prides herself in her ability to bring the curriculum to each student at a level of understanding that will build the foundation for lifelong learning.

Laura also works as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in private practice specializing in issues related to adolescents and their families. In an attempt to bridge the gap between school, parents, and the community Laura also developed curriculum and frequently presents parent education presentations for various middle schools.
