Jessica Block, MFTI

Primary Therapist

Jessica Block is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern with years of experience working specifically with adolescents. Jessica obtained her B.A. in Communications from the University of Southern California and her Masters in Psychology from Chapman University. She is certified through the advanced training of Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (T-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and highly trained in the therapeutic modalities of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Additionally, Jessica has co-authored two articles published in top-ranked medical journals detailing her research on distinct coping skills and their effect on the ability to handle identified stressors. Jessica’s focus at Newport Academy is to increase self esteem, strengthen families, resolve trauma, improve coping skills, and ultimately change the lives of children and young adults.
