Credentialed Teacher
Girls Campus

Devon was raised in Orange County, not far from Newport Academy. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Westchester, CA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies in 2004. She also received a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Loyola. Devon is currently pursuing a special education teaching credential as well as a Masters of Science in Special Education with an autism certificate. Devon’s goal as a teacher is to inspire her student’s to recognize their strengths, set goals for themselves, and actively work toward reaching their desired outcomes. Devon encourages her students to be life-long learners and creates a positive environment for them to continue with their academics while starting out on their road to recovery.

Devon struggled with her own eating disorder throughout her adolescence. She received inpatient care in 2001 and has maintained her recovery since then. Her experience with inpatient care and her ongoing recovery provides her with the insight and tools necessary to inspire and guide others experiencing problems with addiction. Devon has seen how the family dynamic can contribute not only to adolescent addiction, but how it can also play an important role in one’s recovery. She is an example of the possibility of recovery, and looks forward to working with adolescents and families as they heal and begin their own journey of recovery.
